A recent leak with wet floors or cabinets calls for prompt discussion of water removal and structural drying after the source is controlled. Visible growth, musty materials or a longer moisture history may require a separate mold assessment and remediation plan. Tell us when you first noticed the problem and which rooms are affected. We explain what Wilson’s can clean or dry, what an independent assessor needs to determine and which repairs belong to another qualified trade.

Planning cleanup in an occupied home
Protect the unaffected rooms
Discuss access routes, nearby belongings, room use and occupant schedules before work starts. Mold cleanup uses containment and project-appropriate HEPA filtration under the assessor’s protocol. We plan removal and debris handling around that scope. If concealed growth is found, we document it and coordinate with the assessor before expanding the work. Contents cleaning or pack-out is a separately agreed service.
Keep assessment separate from cleanup
Wilson’s performs remediation. An independent licensed mold assessor handles assessment, the written protocol and post-remediation verification. We coordinate access for verification and follow the project’s completion requirements. Plumbing, roof and HVAC repairs and reconstruction are handled by separate qualified contractors. A free consultation is not a formal mold assessment or clearance test.
What to have ready for your Edgewater consultation
Share your property city, contact number, the date the issue started, whether the leak has stopped and any independent assessor’s report. Photos from a safe area can help explain the concern, but do not open walls or disturb suspect materials just to take pictures. Tell us about access restrictions and whether belongings block the affected area. We do not collect payment details through an initial inquiry.
Who handles a mold concern in Edgewater?
Call Wilson’s Remediation at 386-316-2042 to discuss cleanup and next steps. Darren Wilson holds Florida Mold Remediator License MRSR3078 and brings 30 years of restoration experience. When an independent assessment or written protocol is needed, a separate licensed mold assessor provides it.
What should I do while water is still entering?
Stay clear of standing water when electrical or structural safety is uncertain. If the source can be stopped safely, do so; otherwise contact the appropriate plumber, roofer or other qualified trade. Call us to discuss water extraction and drying. Tell us whether the source is controlled so we can plan an appropriate scope.
What affects the estimate and drying time?
The materials, extent of wetting, contamination, access, equipment needs and any assessor’s protocol determine the scope. Moisture readings guide drying progress; a fixed number of days cannot be promised before evaluating conditions. See our mold estimate guide for cost factors and exclusions. Reconstruction and independent testing are separate services.
Do you repair the leak and replace the walls?
Wilson’s handles the agreed cleanup, extraction, drying and remediation work. Separate qualified contractors handle plumbing, roofing, HVAC repairs and reconstruction. Before finishing walls or returning belongings to the work area, coordinate the repair sequence and any required independent verification.
